Tweetburner provides an API for communicating with the service. In the near future you can request statistics, Twurls and the infamous top 10 lists through our API.

Generating a Twurl
You can generate a Twurl and receive it in plaintext by sending a HTTP POST request to http://tweetburner.com/links with link[url]=the_url_to_twurl as an parameter in the request's POST body.
If you have curl, you can test it with:
curl http://tweetburner.com/links -d link[url]=twitter.com
